Brief Women's Fashion!



'1950's Women's fashion!
{The trends in the 1950's were}
Pencil Skirts,Mini Dresses
Fancy Wide Ballerina Skirts,
Taped Waists & bust-enhancing bodycases. 

Bathing Suits!


Women rarely wore a two piece bikini that being said one piece bathing suits were mostly worn. The bathing suits as zippers in the center back of the bathing suit or on the side seam. The one top style of a 50's bathing suit was the apron style which is on the left 

Below girls wore things called Bathing caps. Girls wore them to make sure their hair did not get wet, because hair was so important back in this time. May of the hair-caps had decorative abstract things on them like flowers, rubber spikes and petals!




Dresses

Fashion in the 1950s was to dress smart. To have a "tailored look" 
Also adding gloves were part of the dress attire.

Types of Skirts
The were called the swing skirt! 
It was a popular style that had many forms and the poodle skirt.

Pencil Skirts
The pencil skirt was to attain an hourglass body shape. This was for a more mature crowd, NOT teenagers.

  2. I know!!! One girl that I see around campus dresses 50’s and I wish I could do it, I know I could it’s just I rarely see 50s fashion anymore. Although sometimes I see at Forever 21 stuff that has a retro look! But yes I love their bathing suits I am trying to find something with a look like that, but I am having any luck! Haha! It’s coming back though! I saw it online! YAYA :)
